About Flower City Dahlias:

My story

Flower City Dahlias really began back in 2020, as a small U-Pick flower patch at the 490 Farmer’s Community Garden. It grew out of a desire to create something beautiful and life giving, after a horrible season of the pandemic and losing my mother to a long battle with cancer.

As I watched those cosmos, zinnias, and snapdragons grow that season, I saw how they brought joy to my community as well. I knew this was what I wanted to do with my life.

In these times that feel so dark, confusing, and scary, I believe it is more important than ever to nurture beauty and hope. Drawing our community close is so important, and I believe sharing beauty and hope is a part of mutual aid.

My Current Location

After working for several years as garden manager at the 490 Farm, and as a flower farmer at a local farm, I was given the opportunity to start my own flower project. I am currently growing at Growing Family Farms in Spencerport, NY, an organic CSA veggie farm with a focus on regenerative farming.
